Quick Step By Step Instructions For Pool Table Movers

By Heidi Carver

Pool is a very popular game that mostly everyone can play. More commonly known as pocket billiards, this game requires a special table that has six receptacles or pockets wherein you shoot balls using a cue. There are hundreds of variations of games. More popular ones are the eight ball, the nine ball, three ball, straight pool and one pocket.

In order to play pool, you have to have tools. A special table measures 3.5 by 7 feet and weighs up to a thousand pounds. Due to its weight, one will be requiring the help of pool table movers should you wish to transfer your furniture to another location. Other equipment includes balls and cue sticks.

There are many professional movers. But, this does not mean that it is impossible to move one without professional help. If you wish, you can get as much people as you can to help you share the heavy load as you do these simple steps in moving the furniture.

Remove all six pockets first. Be sure to wear safety goggles during this part of the task, because you will have to pull out staple wires using a staple puller. There is a tendency that these staples can unwittingly hit you in the eye, so it is best to be safe than sorry. If you do not have a staple puller, a flat head screw will have to do.

Unscrew the bolts holding the rails in place with a socket wrench. Flip these rails over with some assistance and unscrew them one by one to separate each section. Remember to keep track of all these screws because you will need them in reassembling it back.

The felt goes away after the rails. You will need to use the puller again to pull out the staple wires that hold the cloth in place. However, if the felt is only placed over with glue, simply remove and fold the cloth neatly. You can buy a new felt cover, or you can simply use the old one again.

Use power drill to unscrew the screws holding the slate. Some screws are covered with beeswax, so you would have to scrape each with a flat head screwdriver for it to be removed. Stack the slates on top of one another.

With everything gone, all that remains is the wooden stand. Even without all the slates, this can still weigh heavily so you are required to have four wooden dollies. Each of the four goes under each leg. First lift one side the slip two dollies under each leg, then lift the other side and slip the remaining two underneath the legs on this side. With the furniture mounted on wheels, it is now easier to roll the table to another room.

Though everything seems overly simple, the reality remains to be that moving this is very hard work. This is best left for the pros to handle, because they have already mastered a system to get about the task with efficiency and without inflicting damage to your table. If you are worried about the service fees associated with professional table movers, then you do not have to worry because movers even in fairly big cities like Denver, Colorado offer competitive rates to clients.
