If there's one piece of news that's been the source of many pro wrestling news articles, it would have to be the WWE Network and the way in which it has reached one million subscribers. This service has been vying for said goal for quite some time, which makes it even more tremendous that it's been met. However, there are ways for greater success to be seen. When it comes to advertising, I believe that certain online marketing strategies should be considered.
Speaking as a long-time WWE Network subscriber, I have been witness to some of the early problems of the service. Technical issues have been constant, especially during live streams, which was unfortunate for pay-per-view events. WWE was smart about bringing in new subscribers, though, as they would allow certain months for free when people signed up. This deal was sweetened by a no-commitment model, which would allow people to discontinue the service whenever they'd like.

Even the uploading of older shows, it would seem, has been a sluggish endeavor that I had to wonder why the process had been taking for so long. New content is understandable, given its exclusivity, but older shows? Nonetheless, I found myself using the Network since its inception and, in my experience, it's been a worthwhile endeavor.
With these points in mind, though, I have to wonder how online marketing strategies could work in the benefit of the WWE Network.
