The American Cubanito And Things To Know About It

By Ann Murray

Cubans who have made their home in America do so through some unique history and geopolitical concerns. They come from a country that was once a US colony, and made into a trading and vacation center for many folks from the continent. After a revolution made America and its companies vacate it, there were many who became refugees and the like.

While people with Cuban origins can be lumped as Latinos, or those with Spanish and Indian ancestry who came from south of the US, they have a unique culture and history. The American Cubanito is a topic that can connect you to all things Cuban, from restaurants, to popular drinks in bars, to singers and songwriters. These can be generally popular or popular among Cubans.

The diminutive works as a thing from Spanish, a way of affectionately calling things that are close to hearts of people. It has become a general designation for things that are related to the Cuban culture that has grown here in the US. The drink that is called Cubanito, for example, is based on the margarita, and becoming popular.

Songwriters are those who play the traditional rhythms of the islands and the Caribbean. The languages used can be Spanish or English, depending on the artist, but it will be something that all Cubans can really appreciate. Latin music in the US is also highly appreciated, especially in many urban areas.

Sounds here are distinct, and a lot of artists shine in local environments and sometimes even national ones. There are those who have gone on to international fame, and have inspired many who want to follow the same path. The scene here is always vibrant, often based on night clubs that many Latinos appreciate and go to.

Cubanitos here defines a particular philosophy that has roots in a culture of another place. Something also applicable to products that identify Cuba uniquely, or fashion that is current in the island and its people. But also something that takes definition within America itself, the nation that has given them freedom and the lifestyle they live.

People doing this are also particular about the things they are doing, the way they act or eat or listen and appreciate music. It is not an exclusive philosophy though, since they can welcome all those who want to partake of what they offer in any way. Not being able to understand Spanish is not a block to doing this.

There is a new era of integration and friendship going on between the US and the Cuban state. This has made the Cubanito a new cultural buzzword in many cities and state in America, especially in those places where there are large Latino populations. Florida, in particular, is where this phenomenon has attained amazing new heights and may continue doing so in the near future.

This is not something new here, though, but already a well accepted cultural item given a new boost from the current state of American and Cuban relations. The new dynamism and vibrancy with this is a thing which is new. And lots of folks get to appreciate it, besides those who have it as part of their cultural legacy from the island.
