By Roger Sanders

For you to get an opportunity to participate in a dancing competition, you must be a great dancer. However, you will be competing with other great dancers as well. What you do different is what will set you apart from the other great dancers you will be competing with. Like any other competition, you have to do things right if you are to emerge a winner in the dance competition that awaits you. Proper feeding in particular is important during the week before the big day and on the day of dance competitions.

For you to maintain discipline in your feeding, you should start by coming up with a plan. Take a book and a pen and draw a timetable that will help you know the type and amount of food you should eat on daily basis. Keep this book close to monitor your feeding behavior and to ensure that you are feeding right.

It is also important to get prepared. Ensure that the food you include in your plan is easily accessible. In case there is new type of food you would want to include in your list, avoid including it on the last day. Consider trying new meals a week before the big day. You would not want to go to the competition with stomach upsets.

Know the food that suits your body and is easy for your body to digest. You do not have to eat food that you are not sure about. When you tell your mind you have had a healthy feeding plan to enable you win the competition, you will surely win. In case you are not able to digest solid food very fast, consider settling with meals that you can easily digest.

Some people are fast eaters. They eat food in hurriedly and this leads to issues with their stomach. Eating fast is one of the causes of indigestion and bloating. To be healthy and feel good about your body, eat food slowly. Eating slowly will also make sure that you give your teeth enough time to chew the food before swallowing.

You should also remember to hydrate your body in the right way. Being hydrated in the right way will ensure that you perform optimally. If you are dehydrated, you may suffer from muscle cramping, headaches, nausea, and lack of energy. If you feel thirsty, it is an indication of dehydration. You should however avoid taking too much water few hours before the competition.

You should be careful when eating out as this may alter your feeding plan. It is better to pack your food every time to ensure that you feed healthy. However, in case you forget packing, choose foods that are in line with your plan. You should also avoid testing new good out of curiosity.

You should also remember that your body needs time to relax. Do not spend the whole night practicing on the eve of the competition day. Sleep early to ensure you wake up energetic enough to give your best shot on the day of competition.
